Spama is a Norwegian company with expertise in banking and finance, and among other things develops products and offers services to improve knowledge and skills in the industry. Leidar was commissioned to plan and conduct a study trip to Brussels for 20 lawyers in the banking and finance industry, so they could gain insight and inspiration from the trends in Brussels and what this means for Norway. There was also a desire to increase the understanding of how to work effectively in Brussels and become acquainted with relevant stakeholders in Brussels, as well as build relations between the participants through social activities and time together.
Insight and inspiration in Brussels, Europe’s capital
With colleagues in both Oslo and Brussels, Leidar developed a two-day programme following Spama’s wishes and needs in terms of content, and social events for the group. Leidar researched and mapped relevant stakeholders, contacted speakers from both the private and public sectors in Brussels, and coordinated their participation. The finished programme consisted of visits to various institutions with Norwegian representatives, such as the Norwegian delegation to the EU and EFTA, and representatives from various EU institutions. Highlights included GDPR, payment services, sustainable finance, Norway’s role in the EU system and meeting with a Brussels-based law firm.
In addition, Leidar assisted with the execution of the study trip and logistics around the visit. The development of the programme and its successful completion was a result of close collaboration between our teams in Oslo and Brussels.
Leidar quickly saw our needs and developed a really good program for our excursion to Brussels. Leidar was efficient and easy to work with — and during our time in Brussels they ensured the execution of absolutely everything. I am very pleased with the result of the collaboration.
